The revisions of the Faculty Handbook went through several iterations before being brought to the Senate floor. It was shared that the three aims of the revisions were uniformity in reporting votes and voter participation without compromising confidentiality, clarity in who may participate in drafting the departmental letter, and improving readability of the section of the faculty handbook.

Qureshi began by thanking faculty and deans who he had an opportunity to speak with about the motion to raise graduate student stipends. He reminded senators that the motion was targeted toward the institutional minimum stipends.

Secretary Prado shared the names of the three Rules Committee nominees, Peter Panizzi, senator from Drug Discovery and Development; Kerri Muñoz, senator from World Languages, Literatures & Cultures; and Vinicia Biancardi, senator from Anatomy, Physiology & Pharmacology. She noted that if confirmed the nominees would begin in the next academic year.
